Obituary

Timothy (Tim) Alan Ryan, 66, passed away on July 3, 2023 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, Johnston, Iowa.

A graveside service, honoring Tim, will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Ankeny Memorial Gardens, Ankeny, Iowa.

Tim was born on May 22, 1957 in Ames, Iowa. He grew up in Ankeny and graduated from Ankeny High School in 1975. He attended Iowa State for one year and later attended DMACC, receiving an Associates Degree in electronics. The majority of his career was spent in Cedar Rapids, working for Data Business Equipment, servicing banks in Iowa.

Tim had a passion for music. He played the trombone and had a love of guitars, playing in several bands during high school and college. Tim always welcomed the opportunity to attend rock concerts, especially his favorite band, Kansas. As a little boy, Tim had an affection for dogs and that affection grew throughout his adult life. Damon, his doberman; Cole, his beagle and Jethro, his bloodhound were wonderful companions over the years! Tim was a loyal Cyclone and Green Bay Packer fan.

Tim is survived by his brother, Steve (Nola) Ryan and sister, Linda (Richard) Fawcett; nephews, Peter, Christopher, Chad and Sean; nieces Susan, Jennifer, Lindsay and Courtney; special friends, Dan and Linda Doggett; as well as other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ed and Stella Ryan and brother, Dan.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Heinz 57 Pet Rescue or Iowa Weimaraner Rescue.
