Robert A. Lupher, 87, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at UnityPoint Hospice - Taylor House in Des Moines, IA.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Madeline (Force) Lupher, his daughter Deb (Lupher) Baldi, his son Doug Lupher and his spouse Stacey (Harwood) Lupher, grandchildren Taylor Maher, Chelsea Hamilton, Christian Coleman, Dominic Baldi, Brianna Anderson, Ashley Stewart, and eight great grandchildren behind. He is preceded in death by his birthparents Lucille and William Asher, four siblings and adoptive parents Earl and Gladys Lupher.
Bob was born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and grew up in Tingley, Iowa. He was a pitcher on his high school baseball team and sang at the local Presbyterian Church. He then joined the Navy serving as a medic stationed in Hawaii. After returning home he then met Madeline Force and they married in 1961.
He worked for many years at Fruehauf Trailers in Des Moines as a Welder Journeyman. He had a love of baseball, old cars, pheasant hunting, beer and playing pool. Later in life he had hobbies of constructing puzzles and building hundreds of model cars.
