Jose Jorge Gutierrez Ramirez

Jose Jorge Gutierrez Ramirez, 62, of Des Moines passed away at his home on August 30, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (3301 Ashworth Rd., West Des Moines, IA) where the family will greet friends one hour prior to services.  

José Jorge Gutiérrez Ramírez nació en Puebla, Puebla, México, el 18/08/57. Era un hijo, esposo, padre y amigo; Jorge vivió la mayor parte de su vida en Des Moines, IA. Vivió aquí por un tiempo con su exesposa Dolores y sus dos hijas Elizabeth y Lucina. Dejó seis hermanas llamadas Alicia, Martha, Rosa, Mercedes, Victoria y Silvia y un hermano llamado Arturo. Jorge era un alma libre y apasionada. Amaba a su familia lo mejor que podía, no era perfecto, pero hizo todo lo posible por cambiar. Todos sus seres queridos lo extrañarán, que su alma descanse en paz.

Una noche un hombre tuvo un sueño. Soñó que estaba caminando por la playa con el Señor. Al otro lado del cielo aparecieron escenas de su vida. Para cada escena, notó dos pares de huellas en la arena; uno que le pertenece, y el otro que pertenece al Señor, cuando la última escena de su vida apareció ante él; volvió a mirar las huellas en la arena. Se dio cuenta de que muchas veces en el camino de su vida solo había un par de huellas. También notó que sucedió en los momentos más bajos y más tristes de su vida. Esto realmente lo molestó y le preguntó al Señor al respecto.

“Señor, dijiste que una vez que decidiera seguirte, caminarías conmigo todo el camino. Pero he notado que durante los momentos más problemáticos de mi vida solo hay un par de huellas. No entiendo por qué cuando más te necesitaba me dejabas. "El Señor respondió:" Mi precioso hijo, te amo y nunca te dejaría. Durante los momentos de prueba y sufrimiento, cuando ves solo un par de huellas en la arena, fue cuando te cargué, como un padre carga su hijo todo el tiempo que fuiste hasta que llegaste a este lugar sagrado. Incluso para tu vejez y canas, yo tu dios, soy el que te llevaré a los cielos. Isaías 46: 4. y Deuteronomio 1:3

Jose Jorge Gutierrez Ramirez was born in Puebla, Puebla México on August 18, 1957. He was a son, husband, father and a friend.  Jorge lived most of his life in Des Moines, IA. He lived here for a while with his late wife Dolores and two daughter’s Elizabeth and Lucina. He left six sisters: Alicia, Martha, Rosa, Mercedes, Victoria and Silvia and one brother, Arturo.  Jorge was a free soul and a passionate one too.  He loved his family the best he could, he was not perfect but he tried his best to change. All his loved ones will miss Jorge, may your soul rest in peace.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.

For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other belonging to the Lord, when the last scene of his life flashed before him; he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I do not understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

“The Lord replied, "My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints in the sand it was then that I carried you, as a father carries his son all the way you went until you reached this holy place. 

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am your god, I am he who I will carry you to the heavens. Isaiah 46:4. & Deuteronomy 1:31
