In Loving Memory of Donald “Freddie” Aberg, beloved husband, dad, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, age 63 of Hartford, IA. Fred passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at his home in Hartford, IA.
The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Pierschbacher Funeral Home (201 Walnut Street, Milo, IA 50166). The funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m., burial will be at a later date.
Fred was born in Cresco, Iowa to Eugene Edward and Dorothy Marie (Blaser) Aberg, he grew up in Cresco and graduated from Cresco High School in 1978. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathy in 1979. They moved to Mason City where they had three children: Jessica, Alicia, and Jacob.
Fred was an active outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His true passion was deer hunting. He enjoyed wood working and watching the Vikings. He never met a stranger, always had time for everyone, and was always quick to lend a hand or give friends a hard time.
Fred worked as a District Manager for Pepsi Beverages Co. in Mason City, IA from 1979 – 1994 and as a Retail Customer Service Manager at Kraft foods from 1994 - 2019. He was a committed Team Member and enjoyed working in stores creating displays. He was passionate about working with his team and enjoyed success in sales.
Fred is survived by his wife, Kathy Aberg of Hartford, IA, son, Jacob (Holly) Aberg of Yale, IA, daughter, Jessica Aberg of Des Moines IA, Brett Ellis of Des Moines Iowa, and four grandchildren: Ana, Curtis, Thaddeus, and Xavier, sister, Erica (Mark) Tlusty of Rockford, IA; brothers: Kirk (Angela) Aberg of San Diego, CA and Jim (Elaine) Aberg of Mason City, IA, several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews and close friends.
Fred is preceded in death by his daughter, Alicia Aberg, granddaughter Amiaya, parents Eugene and Dorothy Aberg, sister-in-law a brother-in-law and Aunts and Uncles.
Fred, we will love you forever, we will love you for always. You will always be with us, in our hearts and in our minds. You will never be forgotten; we love you and miss you.
