Debbie J. Longoria, beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 2nd, 2026, after complicated health issues. She was 66 years old. Debbie faced life’s challenges with a strong will, loving heart, and determination. She was the light in the room and the person to lean on. She would have your back and protect her family no matter what. She was fierce and had a beautiful, adventurous life. She traveled across the United States exploring new adventures and made many friends over the years and gave a run for your money. Born on February 7, 1960, the first daughter of Tony and Janet Bass was loved deeply and was close to her parents and siblings. She was the leader, protector, and the troublemaker.
Debbie was the best mother that three children could ever ask for. She had taught her children how to cook, clean, be kind, loving, even if we did not say to each other often, sarcasm, and when to have thick skin, and to accept life changes, but more importantly to have respect for us and stand up for ourselves from anyone. Debbie got the title of grandmother to two wonderful and beautiful grandsons and got to spend time with them and make them laugh and smile. Debbie made many sacrifices for her children and made sure her family had everything they needed and wanted she was the magic during Christmas and her handwriting was unbelievable beautiful. Being a mother to two daughters had challenges for her, but having a son was something different, she made sure that her children were safe and sound. Taught them right from wrong and listen to all sides before making decisions. But in the end, she always stood beside her children. She took her son to their first powwow and had a great bonding time with her son. Debbie was there to help teach about death of family and pets to her children. On June 2nd she had earned her wings and is preceeded in death by her grandparents, mother, brother, and beloved pets that we know welcomed her with open arms in heaven.
Debbie is survived by Tony Bass of Des Moines, IA; her beloved children Rosalinda Longoria of Ankeny, IA and grandson Achilles K Harris, Jessie Lynn-rose Longoria of Des Moines, IA and her grandson Dean A Kurtalija; and Santos Jose Longoria of Ankeny, IA; her beloved siblings Donna Bass of Des Moines, IA; Tony ‘Butch’ Bass (Lisa) of Winterset, Ia; Gary Bass (Erin) of Des Moines, IA; Todd Bass (Cassandra) of Carlisle, IA along with several nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends who will carry her memory forward with love and pride.
